THE TABLE

Community of Spiritual Seekers - Come All Who Hunger

Home: Welcome

A SEAT AT THE TABLE

What happens when everything you once believed about God begins to crumble? Perhaps you lose a loved one, get ill or are made redundant and start to question whether God really is good. Or maybe you stumble across skeptical material online or have your beliefs challenged at university. In a moment, those doubts you’ve had about judgment or biblical infallibility come to the fore and you’re left feeling overwhelmed. What do you do?

For many of us our questions rendered us confused and alone - spiritual refugees - who could no longer find answers in the faith traditions that raised us. Our doubt-filled faith led us to question our religious identities and whether or not we belong.

Inspired by Laura Jean Trauman’s “A table for all who are hungry,” The Table is a virtual group, a safe space for people in the spaces between, those in the wilderness, those in confusion, the doubters, the wanderers. Those for whom cathedrals and stained glass windows and assemblies in halls hold no space for anymore. All are welcome and in the words of Rachel Held Evans “There’s always room for more.”

At The Table, we shake the tables of conventional theological paradigms in order to prepare a feast for all who hunger to partake in the experience of divinity. Christ is no longer for a select few. There is a seat at The Table for everyone.
