COMMUNITY
The phrase “Spiritual, not religious” characterizes the spirituality of an ever-growing population of young people globally, and Nigeria’s youth population is not exempt. Our religious culture is steeped in conservative doctrine, characterized by tribal and denominational wars, and heavily influenced by our colonial past and indigenous culture. Within this religious landscape, exists a population of spiritual seekers along a wide spectrum of affiliations that ranges from mainstream evangelical Christianity to agnosticism. We all have different stories—though there are common themes. Our stories involve evolving beliefs, healing spiritual trauma, and exploration of different world views. These shifts put many at odds with their communities. Becoming your most authentic self also means feeling alone and that is why The Table was created.
Guided by an ethos of care, our mission is to cultivate a community of spiritual seekers who are curious, open-minded, and have an appetite for knowledge by creating opportunities for connection and dialogue.
There is room for you at The Table.
